Post Transplant Balancing Act

03.21.2023 - The day was a bit rough; they were not ready for us to come back when we did since they were still trying to get medication balanced, the room situated and everything ready. The heart was slow to start pumping again but nothing completely out of the ordinary. Your heart is strong just like you, it just needs a little encouragement!

Now for the balancing act; keeping your heart rate low, blood pressure up and finding the right medications to support your transplant and keep you healthy. Most of the day is just watching you sleep and listening to all of the doctors and nurses working together.

03.22.2023 - Last night was finally a good night, even though dialysis had to be started to help your kidneys flush some of the medication and fluid out of your system. Your kidneys need a little boost in working to their full potential again.

Cindi came to visit and hang out this morning. Then Coach S, he comes every Wednesday after school to make sure I can get to RMH.

It was a wiggly day moving all around the bed and laying in weird positions. But overall a good day weaning off some medications and balancing others.

Tom Archdeacon called and came to the hospital to do a story about you in all Cox Media papers. He interviewed three of your friends and Coach B. Mr. A has been a sports writer for over 50 years! I am looking forward to seeing your story.

3 months post transplant (almost)

Can anyone else believe it has been three months since Ebonie had her heart transplant! It's truly still something I have a hard time ...
