After having a rough couple of nights one of the doctors offered for Ebonie to get into a wheelchair (it's a first) and go out to the courtyard (also a first)! Ebonie smiled more than she has in almost a month. She was so happy to enjoy the fresh air and warm weather! I got to push her med pole, which for those who know, she is down to one line, there are three pumps!
Ebonie had PT today and stood beside the bed 3 times, they were going to get her sitting in a chair but the next person was not patiently waiting their turn. She's getting good at standing and next will work on pivoting and shuffling to move from the bed to a wheelchair or the recliner in the room.
Also, OT came in and worked on basic skills, opening and squeezing toothpaste on to a toothbrush, brushing her teeth and swishing mouthwash. The cleaning her face; today was a bit rushed by dialysis, but Ebonie worked hard!
Ebonie is no longer on continuous dialysis but has started intermittent dialysis which will generally be every other day and takes about 3.5 hours. This is a much stronger process, but they were happy with Ebonie's blood pressure and heart rate levels to switch her.
All of this and our not great experience with dinner wore Ebonie out and she is resting. We have watched Chopped all day so hopefully Ebonie is picking up some skills for when we get home. Thank you to everyone who went to Giovanni's for dinner tonight and supported us again! We love that small businesses are helping us and are blessed with all the support!
