03.30.23

Whew! Today has been a day! Ebonie did OT/PT early this morning! She was able to sit up on the side of the bed for about 30 minutes and did a great job of pulling herself tall and stretching her back. Aunt Katie and I both got to hug her today while she was sitting up! She also got stood almost all the way up. I am so excited to see her up moving but it definitely takes a lot of her and she needs a nap in the afternoon.

Infectious Disease specialists came in today and although Ebonie does not have any infections, she is showing slight signs of rejection. Although not uncommon or completely abnormal they are going to treat with some anti-rejections medications. Her fever already broke but she's still finishing the antibiotics just to be sure that anything is taken care of.

The best news of the day is that what they thought was a large clot in the left ventricle of her heart does not appear to be a clot; they think it is just an abnormality in the muscle and something they will watch but are not concerned about. What a relief, they also did a full body ultrasound of her legs, arms and chest. I am so excited to hear it does not sound like she has any new clots!

3 months post transplant (almost)

Can anyone else believe it has been three months since Ebonie had her heart transplant! It's truly still something I have a hard time ...
